Us, Selk'nam by Carlos Reyes and Rodrigo Elgueta, is the new release from the same authors of the international success The Years of Allende. This graphic novel can be considered a documentary that explores from different cultural angles the story of indigenous people who survived genocide, but from which only a few traces remain.
This graphic novel can be considered a documentary that explores from different cultural angles the story of indigenous people who survived genocide, but from which only a few traces remain.
In three narrative and graphic registers, the authors reconstruct the history of the Selk'nam culture, indigenous who lived under extreme conditions in Tierra del Fuego, archipelago, at the southern extremity of South America.
Without certainty and full of questions the authors Reyes and Elgueta, this time turned into comic book characters, begin a long journey from a mythological world to the present era. They will meet the first travelers who discovered the southern tip of South America, and also will lead us to understand the role of the Catholic Church, the landowners and the State of Chile in the genocide of these ancient people.
