Best Unpublished Novel of the Year 2016, Chilean Ministry of Culture.
“A Love of Clones” makes its way through an ingenious action plot in the possible and near future: the world of clones. Kira and Mel, identical copies of a movie star, face the challenge of differentiating themselves to achieve the desired otherness. The path of each one, although opposite, only makes evident the bond from which it is impossible to escape.
The entire novel is covered by an ironic tone, with fine humor, reaching its highest point in the virtual game described therein, with levels of cruelty that alert us to the invasive and self-referential technologies in vogue today.
“Kira wakes up mid-morning amidst the freshness of her silky sheets. The light is dim; the blinded windows recreate the atmosphere of a sunset. As soon as she opens her eyes, she feels the weight of the newly thick lashes provided by the last follicular fertilization. She likes dense lashes with a slight bluish hue accentuating her honey-colored gaze. She allows herself to be trapped by the vestiges of sleep until the feeling of something pending forces her to wake up”.
